Day 2 on the Southern Ocean

We entered the Drake Passage this morning after passing between the southern tip of Argentina and Isle de los Estados off the coast. The seas have been building steadily as we entered the Drake and it’s getting to be a challenge to walk around the boat. Plates and food slide along tables during meals, and climbing and descending stairs is getting tricky. I’ve been photographing the birds that follow the LMG, so far Albatross and Southern Giant Petrels. I spotted a seal this morning in the channel between Argentina and the island which was apparently a rare sighting.
